RapidShare zero waiting time (bookmarklet)

RapidShare is like YouSendIt; you upload a file, that others can download from their servers.

Rapidshare

The (main) difference between the two is that the former allows unlimited downloads while the latter allows up to 25 downloads before the file is removed from the servers. But there’s a catch.

To be able to do so, RapidShare forces the user to wait for 30+ seconds before providing the actual link to the file. UPDATE (06-06-2005): Either that, or RapidShare forces you to wait an hour or two and then come back to reclaim your download — in that case no counter is displayed, thus no bookmarklet can help you.

If you use this service and the counter feature bugs you, thanks to some information I found online, I’ve created a bookmarklet that eliminates it.

(thanks to reader “Illuvatar” for this)

Drag it to your bookmarks toolbar folder and when (and if; read the update above) the counter appears on the RapidShare site, click on it. The counter disappears and the direct link to the file takes its place.

Also, if you’re into downloading all the latest music, etc. you may want to read my Allofmp3 review.

Yahoo! 360 invitations

Yahoo! 360 (Beta)I have a few Yahoo! 360° invitations to spare.

If you’d like one, add a comment to this post. I’ll probably send out the invitation, if I like your weblog enough.

UPDATE: Sorry, not doing this anymore. Comments are closed.
